Map: The Kingdom of Norquii

 

The gnomish homeland, Norquii is a monarchical republic with three chambers of assembly. On the whole, it is more egalitarian than most nations of Thindul, but known for its byzantine politics. Cool and arid, much of Norquii was rendered uninhabitable by the destruction of the elven water system during the Orcwrath. In the last several centuries, gnomes have returned to the surface, and have built great cities centered around steam pipes, which carry water from far below the ground, greening vast tracts of the desert. After the Thulgrähbar flooded the Deepings, the remaining subterranean gnomish cities voluntarily annexed themselves to the surface kingdom of Norquii.
